Twelve Energy
our company
The producer, Twelve Energy Società Agricola Srl, has recently reached its 4th year of activity. The photovoltaic greenhouse park extends over an area of 61 hectares, of which 26 are occupied by greenhouses where varieties of Corallo and Corallo Erecta (Patrucco Selection) rose berries and cut roses are cultivated. Production includes rootstocks, cuttings, scions for rose trees and a wide range of garden roses, officinal roses, cut roses, etc. These products are sold with or without pots or in Florapack. Today Twelve Energy, which employs around 30 people, counts on a photovoltaic greenhouse park (located in the area of “Su Scioffu” in Villasor (Cagliari) – Italy) with a total capacity of 20 MWp. The park represents a unique initiative: the mega-plant, which extends for 26 hectares (producing electrical power equal to 20 MW), is able to cover the annual power requirements of 10,000 households, saving 25,000 tons of CO2 (equal to saving a forest of 3,200 hectares).
The project has been entirely financed with owned capitals, without any local funds, thanks to an investment of over 70 million Euros. It is the first investment in Italy by the Indian company HINDUSTAN POWER PROJECT PRIVATE Ltd, formerly Moser Baer Clean Energy Limited, leader in the renewable energy sector, and by the USA giant GENERAL ELECTRIC. The 134 greenhouses are partially covered with photovoltaic panels, for a total of more than 84,000 polycrystalline silicon panels.
